Play & Serve
”Where there is love, there is no effort” – Amma
Karma Yoga is one of the important teachings of Yoga. Karma Yoga is often described as the ”Yoga of action” and means to act without being attached to the outcome of our actions. It is about giving our very best, doing that which we know in our heart to be the right thing, without seeking personal advantages, and letting our actions be lead by the heart and not the ego. Karma Yoga and bhakti yoga (the yoga of devotion) are very closely related in spirit. We can only act selflessly when love and compassion are rooted in our heart. The word seva, which means selfless service, is often used in this context. Through selfless service, doing good for others, we are able to relase some of the negative karma which we bring with us to and accumulate in this life. The more we gift ourselves to others, the more we receive.
With an attitude of thankfulness the wish to give back is automatically born. An this wish is one which would like to be realized. Amma, the hugging saint, is a shining example for us about one person can do for others. Her worldwide charitable organizations have improved the lives of many people across the globe.
In 2013 and 2014 we offered our ”Play & Serve” retreats at the Höllbachhof in the Bavarian forest. At these retreats playful AcroYoga and Karma Yoga came together. Participants had the opportunity to get involved various projects which benefited the Höllbachhof community. At the moment we would like to go deeper with the Play and Serve concept and are looking for non-profit and charitable eco and social organisations to collaborate with.
